As you probably already know I am a huge fan of bars! I need one daily to satisfy my addiction. And as you also know they are ultra hard to find in France so I've taken the liberty to make them myself. Like my Almond Coconut Sesame Bars! Soooo yum.
Mitch and I are leaving on Saturday for our wedding (OMGOMGOMG!) which isn't for another week, but we are meeting our friends and family for some pre-celebrations. And so I cooked up these bad boys to help fuel us on the 6 hour car ride down. (If they make it to tomorrow!). These are one of my favourite bars to bake because they taste so much like my favourite snack bar by GoMacro. Have you tried these bars!? Honestly, they are out of this world delicious! I love them all! But, hands down I love love LLLOOOOVVEEE their Sweet Revival Sesame Butter + Dates Macrobar. I will never forget the day I bit into this beautiful bar for the first time. It was fireworks! This bar is so rich and nutty, but has a beautiful sweet taste and a gorgeous soft texture. Pair it with a big cuppa tea and game over. I don't know when I died and went to heaven...but no complaints here.
And since it's impossible to find these Macrobars in France (and because, as you can tell, I am completely addicted to them), I've spent the past couple weeks trying to recreate this recipe - perfecting it to taste just like the beautiful Sweet Revival Sesame Butter + Dates Macrobars I know and love.
And you know what? I think I've done it! These homemade Sesame Butter + Dates Macrobars are delicious!!! The texture, taste and look are so similar, and it's got that homemade look and feel that's a total bonus.
I highly recommend if you haven't tried macrobars to find out where you can get these beautiful treats; or, if you want to make them yourself like me you can use this wondrous recipe that has saved me from my withdrawal. :)
