Dreamy Golden Overnight Oats

This bowl of overnight oats is out of a dream! It's creamy, smooth, fluffy and heavenly. Someone pinch me please! I don't think I could have asked for a more dreamy bowl to start the day. The colour itself sets the stage for your morning, it's glowing golden colour reminding you just how promising the day ahead can be. This is the true magic of Golden overnight oats. Their euphoric colour and blissful taste is like indulging in a sweet dream. (A food dream of course!).

What makes these overnight oats so golden in colour? GOLDEN MILK!

As I mentioned in my previous post, this turmeric infused milky drink seems to have become the 2016 superfood of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if we're all ringing in the New Year with golden milk in hand. And because I can't seem to get enough of this Creamy Golden Milk, to the point I am running out of fridge space for the stuff, I figured it's never too early to start indulging. A golden breakfast? Say no more! And so here we have it: Dreamy Golden Overnight Oats!

These golden overnight oats I tell you....the combination of Golden Milk, oats, and mashed banana is the breakfast of angels! The golden ingredients pair perfectly in this bowl, offering peace, comfort and tranquility. I'm certain if I waited any longer this bowl would grow wings and fly up to the heavens. It's completely golden and pure. But not only that, it takes 5-minutes to make! Amen! We all know the drill for overnight oats: simply mash the banana, add the oats, pour in the (golden) milk and go to bed. Come morning you wake to see a glowing golden bowl ready and waiting for 20 perfect minutes of indulgence.

So give it a try for yourself, and relish in every blissful bite. It's the least we can do for ourselves especially given this crazy time of year! And I hope you know that this pretty little breakfast bowl can be enjoyed at any time of day; whenever you need a moment of peace and tranquility. I may go grab another bowl myself. After all, heaven is just a walk-to-the-fridge away.

 

Dreamy Golden Overnight Oats

 

Serves: 1 | Prep Time: 5 mins + 8 hours (5 mins active prep)| Cook Time: 0 mins

 

Ingredients:

For topping:

  • 1/4 persimmon, chopped

  • 1/2 banana, sliced

  • 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds

  • 1 tsp coconut shavings

  • pinch hemp hearts

  • 5-6 chopped hazelnuts

  • agave to taste

Directions:

  1. In a breakfast bowl add 1/2 banana, mash with a fork. Add oats, Creamy Golden Milk, and pinch of salt. Stir to combine. Place in fridge overnight to allow oats to absorb milk.

  2. When ready to eat remove overnight oats from fridge and top with sliced persimmon, banana, pomegranate seeds, coconut shavings, hemp hearts, hazelnuts and agave.
