Green Vitality Smoothie

I call this smoothie "Green Vitality" because it truly has the purest ingredients - leafy greens, citrus, ginger, banana and dates. Fruits and veg like these are packed with health benefits that nourish your body and soul, so you'll be glowing throughout the day. And, it's soooo delicious! What more could you ask for?

I must say, this smoothie is probably my favourite. I love making this on a Saturday morning, because it feels like I'm starting the weekend right. The ingredients are not typical to what you're used to, but combined it's perfection. The banana and dates makes this smoothie deliciously sweet. You will want to savour every sip and let it linger. But, at the same time the orange and ginger brings an invigorating and refreshing taste to this drink. Not only will you love the taste of this Green Vitality Smoothie, but you will feel so good about yourself after drinking it. Opposites really do attract in this recipe making a stellar drink you will crave over and over.

Green Vitality Smoothie

 

Serves 2

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 kale leaves (stems removed)

  • 1 banana

  • 1/2 orange (peeled)

  • 1-2 dates (to taste)

  • 1 tsp almond butter

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • splash of cold filtered water

  • 3-4 ice cubes

  • 1/2 tsp fresh chopped ginger

  • pinch salt

Directions:

  1. Toss your all the ingredients in a high speed blender.

  2. Blend for 1 minute, or until smooth.

*Note - if you don't have a high speed blender replace the kale for a handful of baby spinach.
