Holiday Spiced Cider

It's the holidays! The time to bring out your nut cracker (and actually use it!), indulge in anything and everything chocolate, and of course...drink! When I think of Christmas with my family, this Holiday Spiced Cider is the golden glue. The sweet and spicy aromas from the apple, cinnamon, cloves, and spice berries instantly puts me in the holiday spirit. What better aroma to fill my home, and bring everyone together (into the kitchen to see what I'm brewing!). Just a splash of rum and this cider goes from delicious to divine.

I love this recipe because typically at Christmas we forget to get creative with our drinks! It's all about the baked goods. I'm sure you too receive batches and batches of shortbread, gingerbread, and pastries, but when does anyone ever bring a homemade drink? If you can actually think of this person in the family, then I'm sorry, but they've beat you to the spiked punch! But if not, impress your family with this Holiday Spiced Cider that's sure to be remembered. It takes drinking at Christmas to the next level.

Another great thing about it? It's DEAD easy to make!

You can honestly whip up this drink in minutes, which is waaayyyy better than slaving in the kitchen all morning preparing shortbread that's ultimately sidelined when Grandma arrives. (It's okay, she's got at least 40 years more practice on you).

Instead, why not be remembered for the sweet scent of Holiday Spiced Cider, and the tasty toasts that accompany it.

Cheers to the holidays!

  2. Then reduce heat and let the cider simmer for approx. 20 minutes, or until the beautiful spices have infused your cider (and your home!)

  3. Whip out some cups and add a splash of rum to each. Fill the rest of the cup with hot cider and serve.
